There is no other way to say it. Begbie Cream Ale kept getting better with every swallow.
I must say, I'm quite surprised by British Columbia, Canada brewer Mt. Begbie Brewing Company's Cream Ale. I had never heard of this craft brewer and I got the beer at a deep discount, so I wasn't expecting much.
As soon as I poured the beer, I was impressed. Its colour was that of a brand new penny. The head dissipated quickly, but there was a nice regular carbonation that lasted the length of the beer. With a great hoppy finish that was surprisingly smooth, Begbie Cream Ale tasted like it was just poured from the tap.
Brewed in Revelstoke, British Columbia, the photo on the label is of Herzog Judge Begbie circa 1859 from the B.C. archives.
If you have the opportunity to try this beer, I highly recommend that you do. I give it four big burps! It almost got five.
Drinking the world.
One beer at a time.
