I've never heard of Bavaria Beer before I found it on sale at my local beer store. Three things attracted me to it. It was on sale, it was big and it was in a green bottle. I've come to realize that I'm a sucker for beers in green bottles and this marketing ploy always works on me.
The first thing I noticed when pouring the Bavaria was its beautiful gold colour. It really stood out as I poured it into the glass. I also like the nice head that formed when poured and stayed as I drank it down. Like it's countryman Heineken, Bavaria beer has a slightly bitter after taste that sticks with you.
The brewer Bavaria International is Holland's largest independent brewer. It has been brewing beer since the 1680's and has been owned by one family for its entire history. The brewery uses it's own source of naturally pure water, and it even has it's own malt house to malt the barley. It's one of the few breweries left in the world to malt its own barley.
I would definitely get Bavaria again. I give it 4 out of 5 burps. Even Carolyn liked it, and she doesn't like many beers. Perhaps this will be a great beer for non-beer lovers. let me know what you think.
Drinking the world.
One beer at a time.
